"He hath made of one blood all nations of men."² "World brotherhood" is a large term, but man must enlarge his sympathies, considering himself in the light of a world citizen. He who truly understands that "it is my America, my India, my Philippines, my Europe, my Africa" and so on, will never lack scope for a useful and happy life.
Though the body of Sri Yukteswar never dwelt on any soil except India's, he knew this brotherly truth: "The world is my homeland." Paramahansaji and Faye Wright, later Sri Daya Mata, at SRF Encinitas Hermitage, 1939. Soon after she entered the SRF Ashram in 1931, the Guru told her: "You are my nest egg. When you came, I knew many other true devotees of God would be drawn to this path." He once lovingly remarked, "My Faye, so much good she will do!...I know I can work through her because she is receptive."

The Years 1940 – 1951 "We have indeed learned the value of meditation, and know that nothing can disturb our inner peace. In the last few weeks during the meetings we have heard air-raid warnings and listened to the explosion of delayed-action bombs, but our students still gather and thoroughly enjoy our beautiful service." This brave message, written by the leader of the London Self-Realization Fellowship Center, was one of many letters sent to me from war-ravaged England and Europe during the years that preceded America's entry into World War II.
